The 2007 fishing season was the best yet. Great catches of Samson Fish, heaps of Kingies and schools of Tuna made for very rewarding charters. The 2008 Dates will fill quickly so get in EARLY.

Some of South Australia’s best sports fishing grounds are along the West Coast of the Eyre Peninsula. The waters around Rocky and Greenly Islands are home to schools of Southern Bluefin Tuna, back breaking Samson Fish and giant Yellow Tail Kingfish of up to a massive 100lb. These monsters, added to a selection of Snapper, Nanigai, Morwong and Blue Groper and various species of shark all make for a fantastic time fishing aboard Calypso Star.

The autumn months of March, April and May see a stable weather pattern which allows us to venture further from home in search of the big ones. Our Fishing Charters operate from Coffin Bay, meaning we are only 2 hours from the fishing grounds. We call Greenly Island home for the next few nights, fishing the anchorage by night for the infamous MONSTER KINGIES under lights and the surrounding reefs by day chasing red hot Samson Fish action that these waters are known for.

We have a huge ice box on board so everyone who wants to can take a good feed home with them. Calypso Star prides its self on the care we take of the catch and the quality of the fish you take home. We support the NSW Fisheries tagging program and encourage tag and release fishing. Don’t worry these big buggers are tough enough to stand a couple of photos before being returned to the deep to fatten up for another day. Our experienced crew take the hard work out of the trip, leaving you plenty of time to reel in the big one!
