Ceylena Holloway - Hostess & Chef
Ceylena was born in Canberra ACT and spent much of her youth there. However, seeing Canberra was land locked and full of politicians Ceylena spent the rest of her years looking for the sea breeze and exploring the liquid blue.
Having spent much of her time on the eastern sea board with extensive travels north to south, and with many trips to the western coast, and then discovering the beauty of New Zealand, Ceylena sought out the hidden treasures of Eyre Peninsula, moving to Port Lincoln to be with her partner Darin in 2003. |
Since arriving in Port Lincoln Ceylena has spent every spare moment exploring the Southern Ocean; diving and fishing as well as camping on its shores and discovering all the secret inlets it has to offer. These hobbies have gone hand in hand with Ceylena's business as a fisherwoman and Port Lincoln presented her with a further opportunity to study and achieve her Coxswains Ticket which she received early in 2008.
As a qualified and respected chef with rave reviews under her hat Ceylena has enjoyed cooking up the seafood delights the Eyre Peninsula offers. And indeed Ceylena has spent a lifetime looking for a job which combines her two greatest loves - food and the sea. When a position for a cook and coxswain became available on the Calypso Star, Ceylena jumped at the chance to meet new people and offer up her delicious food to travelers and sea explorers from all over the world. Each trip on the Calypso Star gives Ceylena the opportunity to hear people's travels and share some of her newborn style of Port Lincoln food, possibly the best on offer and she looks forward to helping travelers in their journeys on and below the sea.
